Characterization of Gilliamella energy metabolism capabilities

Characterization of Gilliamella energy metabolism capabilities, both in terms of substrate-level processes and respiration (i.e. ATP synthesis via the electron transport chain).

Characterization of six sponge-associated Acidimicrobiia species

Characterization of metagenome-assembled genomes of six novel sponge-associated Acidimicrobiia symbionts, revealing some persistent capabilities likely reflecting similar colonization patterns, and abilities to mediate host processes.

Characterization of ten sponge-associated Gammaproteobacteria species

Characterization of metagenome-assembled genomes of ten novel sponge-associated Gammaproteobacteria symbionts, revealing highly diverse metabolic pathways that likely allows for niche partitioning, including by species of the same genus co-habiting the same sponge host.

Lactiplantibacillus - the new Lactobacillus?

The seminal paper reclassified  Lactobacillaceae among 25 genera. How did that impact research interest across both the old (2) and new (23) genera? This short analysis examines the impact, finding for a time interest in Lactobacillus dropped, but ultimately picked back up. Interest in the new genera picked up for a time, but only saw steady growth or even dropped off. The one exception is Lactiplantibacillus, which receives increasing interest with each year.

Characterization of Gilliamella sp009795805

[Manuscript being prepared]

Characterization of Gilliamella sp009795805, sequenced from Chinese bumblebees.

Characterization of Gilliamella rrn operons

[Manuscript being prepared]

Characterization of Gilliamella rrn operons, which seems to be highly conserved both in regards to genomic position and composition.

Characterization of five sponge-associated Acidobacteriota species

Characterization of metagenome-assembled genomes of five novel sponge-associated Acidobacteriota symbionts, revealing some persistent capabilities likely reflecting similar colonization patterns, and potentially significant conveyance of vital compounds (Vitamin Bs) to the host.
